Same! It calls them out, it puts them in the position to comfort you over your actions. None of which is good.

One of the best pieces of advice I got was when you noticed you messed up? Immediately correct yourself and move on.

Do not call attention to it.
Don't even apologize.

Just correct yourself, keep going.

Had this happen and the person gave an aside that said this was the right move.
