I too have not seen the original but the whole thing is telegraphed from the start, almost to the point that they want you to know but still be somewhat surprised by where it goes. Hugely enjoyable madness.

As far as Leto goes, he's dull but at least he's not overwhelmingly weird. I can live with that.
Its a well made blockbuster - much better than I envisaged. But would have much preferred a Legacy followup rather than teasing a sequel to Ares that we just won't get.
