I wouldn't admit to anything else. Besides, there are no laws for "expats". Just for immigration, naturalisation and citizenship.

There's someone who didn't try out the market. And while I appreciate that it can be tough, if you are retired, what do you do all day that stops you making time to learn French?

I always think of those who insist on being expats as "cowpats". And while they might think of themselves as expats, an awful lot of Brits discovered after Brexit that, after all, they were just another bunch of immigrants.

Good God. I wish you and your son well in Colorado. I have sone fond memories of Grand Junction, and high desert is among the best climate and landscape in the US. Good luck!
