Not exactly abstract, but I had a whole lot of fun layering mountains.
Also was very happy with how the sky colors turned out.

This time it was all on bloom trees.
I also attempted one that was not reading broody moody winter. But I hated it. So for now we shall stay with these and enjoy, that are is still some late summer days left.

Did I like my sketches today? Not particularly, no.
BUT: I like that I took the time for art practice and my sketchbooks. And I like small things in those to note and repeat.

More Watercolor Marker Testing
I was wondering how fast you need to work before you will always have staining from your original marker strokes remaining.
Result: It‘s best to lay down a patch and directly activate it. Also peculiarly some colors change vibrancy/ tone if you wait to long.

I got new toys… watercolor markers.
I had already used pencils and crayons, but never markers. They are SO FUN!

I finally get around to trying my new watercolor.
After years with pans I got some tubes for my birthday.
Definitely takes getting used to, but loving it so far.

Part of my mixed media course lessons was to try out things we typically don‘t choose.
As I like rounded shapes, I challenged myself to use lots of sharp angles. 😄
And a rather unusually bold color scheme. Lots of fun!

… no worries! They will learn it soon enough and then use it about 15.000 times a day!

Human water is the best water - period!
Even though I have my own two (!) glasses.
Even though sometimes it is full of chemicals from watercolors or pool testing kits.
Even though it requires a deep dives into the glass.
It will ALWAYS be the best water!
