Today, 52 political prisoners were released in Belarus. Among those freed is my friend, the social democrat Mikola Statkevich.

The Belarus dictature has declared the Belarusian Social Democratic Party – Hramada an "extremist organization." The party was formally dissolved already in September 2023 and has since operated in exile. The Swedish Social Democrats have cooperated with and supported the BSDP since 1991.

Who/what country inspired him the most? 1) Nazi Germany 2) Soviet Union (had a famous Hero Mother program, with medals) or could it be 3) Russia, today? (In August 2022, Putin reinstated the "Mother Heroine" title to address the country's declining birth rate, more soldiers needed.)

The vote is completed in the UN GA on the resolution in support of Ukraine. The US submitted an alternative draft resolution, which did not mention Russia as the aggressor.
Ukraine's proposal won.
The US, along with some of the worst dictatorships in the world, voted no.
