I am saddened to report that I am getting a local beaver evicted.

I finally received the invoice for my ambulance ride to the hospital this summer.

My total bill for the ride plus two days in the hospital is $80, which will be paid by my supplementary insurance that my employer pays for.

The cost for this would have been astronomical in the U.S.

The Olympic Rain Shadow is clearly visible on #weather radar this morning with Sequim, the San Juan Islands, and Bellingham all dry.

Interestingly, Sequim averages less rain annually than Walla Walla in the Eastern Washington desert!

Active #weather is forecast for the Pacific Northwest this weekend. Here's a quick look at the timeline.

I found 30 geocaches while in Japan across three prefectures (but mostly in Tokyo). Japan is now my no. 3 country for #geocache finds!

As fall advances, the Pacific Northwest storm track slowly slides southward, beginning in Alaska in September and October and reaching California in December.

Doing some more playing around in #Python today by plotting the PDO Index. PDO is a long-term #weather pattern looking at sea surface temperatures near the West Coast and Gulf of Alaska.

This is a useful psyyrtm for seasonal forecasting in the Northwest so it's nice to have these graphs.

11:20 Tuesday - The pressure gradient between Quillayute and Victoria is beginning to tick up, signaling the start of the onshore push through the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

A thermal trough along the coast is helping to pull warm air from the B.C. Interior down into the Lower Mainland. The gradient will switch back to onshore with the cool down tomorrow.

I added some new functionality to my finds script to provide text outputs for some stats and also to list all of the grid squares.

The cities are drawn from a dictionary I made in a .csv. I only did squares I've geocached in, but it will be a simple task to add to the .csv when I visit new places.

Got some #geocaching in on my weekend road trip to Bend, Oregon. I now have 500 finds in Oregon and I added my last remaining grid square for Washington (CN98 - Winthrop).

#Wildfire #smoke over the Lower Mainland this morning. I think this is from a fire burning on the west side of the Olympic Mountains.

First solo #bike ride since my hospital stay. I took it slow and am feeling good. Looking forward to more.

This proposed bridge would involve about 1.3 km of new trail (incl. the bridge itself) and create a continuous cycleway that is about 26 km long.

This would be primarily on dedicated bike paths with minor sections of rural roads with very little traffic.

My #YVRbike wish is to have a pedestrian/bike bridge built adjacent to the railroad to connect the Semiahmoo Trail in South Surrey to the Boundary Bay Cycleway via 40 Ave (orange).

The current route is to travel along King George Blvd and Colebrook Road (red) mainly on #bike lanes.

Morning #Rainier update. Earthquakes continue under the #volcano with the Cascades Volcano Observatory reporting that the activity is likely driven by hydrothermal fluids moving along preexisting faults (rather than magma movement).
