There will be a moment when the Trump administration is faced with an out of the blue event, like another Katrina, or another war breaking out somewhere, and their utter lack of competence will get even more people killed than it already has. It's practically inevitable.

Look, it's not about whether anyone who is being deported is a nice person or a dirtbag. The point is that people's liberty is being taken from them without due process. Trump wants to be able to kick _anyone_ out of the US, regardless of where they were born, without any legal proceedings.

I’m sure the continued use of ideological purity tests on the Left will be wholly successful and will lead to a defeat of the GOP in 2026. Because there are so many Americans who think exactly alike about every single issue, and we just need to purge those who don’t from our team. Purity will win!

Let’s not do what we did after the Civil War, at Nuremberg, or with Nixon. When this is over, a lot of people need to live the rest of their lives in prison. “National healing” is a lie. Breaking the law has consequences for everyone else, and it should for politicians as well.

We’re in one of those moments in history where everything is up for grabs.There is no going back to how it was, but the people who look like they’re winning now may have unleashed forces that will lead to their demise. I’m not engaging in wishful thinking, but I am saying the future is unwritten.
