When Mayor Gray-era DC legislation is mentioned, it can be…fun…to look it up & see who voted how.

B19-585, the “Immigration Detainer Compliance Amndmt Act of 2011” (lims.dccouncil.us/Legislation/...): just another thing Councilmember Bowser supported that Mayor Bowser apparently wants to roll back.

Just noticed the copyright statement on DC's 311 system pages, and...

if DC has been turned into or is being run by an LLC, that could explain a *few* things, tbh.

As "nearly all" Cybertrucks are recalled —at least the 8th recall of that model alone— apnews.com/article/cybe..., a bunch of the White House's office "terminations" have also been "walked back." www.bisnow.com/national/new...

which made me wonder, at what point will DOGE's recalls eclipse Tesla's…

Can't decide if 'executing' is a poor choice of words to describe what the woman who famously killed her own dog and goat and then bragged about it in her memoir (www.theguardian.com/books/2024/a...) will be doing in her new job, or if maybe it's just perhaps a bit, er, on the nose...

Dear Greyhound: fuck you, it isn't over yet.

(If I had room to move I'd be rolling on the floor laughing at this email sent half an hour after my scheduled arrival asking if I liked my trip — which left an hour and a half late and is now running closer to two hours behind...)

it is apparently at least going to rain a bit this week and next.

unfortunately, unlike where I grew up, that is not hardly going to cool DC off _at all_.

pro tip:
your trainings should present accurate information, even in seemingly throwaway parts of your examples.

(use for tagging short runs of text, whether for styling or, as here, for language.
as advised here would create a whole new paragraph.)

there have been a number of ironies in this web- and document-accessibility training series I've had to go through for a work project, but my favorite so far might be this 'fonts' slide so badly set I misread it.

The party he supports explicitly says "it is in the interest of the state to support marriage recognized as the exclusive union of one man and one woman for life" and calls for "the repeal of laws and reversal of decisions" permitting same-sex marriage. www.solidarity-party.org/platform

I'm not going to be one of those people counting the paragraphs until the article author discredits their star interviewee, but....i do appreciate the link to the WCP story about Hanlon...
(one of them, anyway. washingtoncitypaper.com/article/1797... )

Maybe because I'm actually using Edge (built on the same base, generally can install the same extensions), all I'm seeing is a bunch of games and other nonsense...

what version of Zotero are you using? In 6.0.26 the Export window has an "Export Notes" option for most (admittedly not all) potential output formats....

All named after...The Beaver River.

(Which, according to Wikipedia, may have been named after an 18th-Century Lenape leader known as The Beaver https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamaqua_(Lenape_chief), who apparently lived nearby for a time.)

i think things are maybe just taking a while? After 2d try to upload a header image i gave up; it eventually appeared a bit later…

for me there's a button to 'add picture' in the lower left, which admittedly i haven't tried to use. but screenshot/copy + paste images as though text appears to work…
