yep. the venerable Michelin prince marco pierre white has two things that he constantly says, often one right after the other:
"perfection is lots of little things done well"
and
"it's through accepting imperfections that we achieve perfection"

it's a microcosm of ND at large: too much money, some degree of bubble syndrome, unwilling in all kinds of ways to take important stances--but a lot of good stuff and continuity with important things buried (somewhere) underneath it all, if you know where to look.

there's the MacIntyre who thinks businessmen should be killed, the MacIntyre who talks a lot about the virtues of Jane Austen and random fishing villages alike, the MacIntyre who thinks de Koninck was the most important Thomist of the 20th century, and then about 60 others.
