Yeah, Bantha Tracks was an internally published newsletter from 1978 to 1986. the Fan Club Magazine was a licensed publication starting in 1997.

I think she just fought the one, but no one’s quite sure which one so stories have varied which one it is.

(Also I’m of the mind that the Ahsoka novel and TotJ short are the same story no matter how many ways people try to spin it)

More creatives tend to gravitate to screen material as the baseline because of the audience size familiar with it is magnitudes bigger.

It’s always case by case. “Allowed” isn’t a word I’d use because it implies a level of authority, process or permissions that is more the purview of producers and editors than anything I work with. What takes precedent is what works for the story.

Nothing really springs to mind. I know some folks fret about Kylo’s interim helmet at Galaxy’s Edge / Rise of Resistance, but I see that more of a production conceit to get him to be an appearance/animatronic character in the park/ride rather than craft a story reason for it.
