I'm sure it will, I know I lose too much time to Facebook and I believe I could stop it. Hell, I've cut caffeine and alcohol out of my life so I suppose I could cut THAT addiction. But yeah, cutting from community is sad.

Moving platforms never works neatly. Not everyone comes along for the ride, it's a sad fact that people you connect with online are not always a focused on a community as you and they can't be bothered with the "effort" of a platform move.

Many years ago there was a website I was a part of which ended up dying, before it died many of us moved to IRC, but not everyone, then we moved to WhatsApp, but not everyone, then we moved to Signal, but not everyone. Nowadays there are 4-5 active members in that Signal group chat.

Like, I want to leave Facebook, I want to walk away from it completely and there is essentially one community there spread over about 5 groups that I don't want to lose.

Perhaps that's why I'm finding it difficult to leave Facebook even in the face of all of the evidence of its evilness.
