I really enjoyed this game as a kid - I could never finish it though, no checkpoints or passwords really made it tough!

Someone made a spiritual sequel a few years ago called Road Redemption. It's not official obviously, but if you like Road Rash you'll most likely enjoy it as well.

Like - the Xbox 360 is going to be 20 years old this year, so it is definitely old now; but if we classify it as "retro", we're putting it in the same category as the NES which is obviously not right either.

I think that is the problem with classifying things as "retro gaming", because then the only categories are "retro" and "not retro".
