Im Not Evans
@inevans.bsky.social
A fan of film, music, video games, board games, and TTRPG's.
Mostly into indy stuff, so always up for recommendations.
He/Him.
I like an extended Christmas cannon to watch, the Long Kiss Goodnight, Black Christmas, Wake In Fright, etc.
We can argue all we want.
As well as 'snow' there is a difference between 'festive' movies and 'christmas' movies.
I don't care, but it does seem to be where the actual disagreements are.

How dare you make me respect RR more than I already do. 😉

And, also, it won't fulfill that desire. They will know they haven't made it, and it will bug them deep down, even if they sell a few copies. Maybe even more so, if it does well.
It's imposter syndrome, but this time, you are actually an imposter. Lol.

Saw this for the first time a few years ago on the big screen.
Fabulous. A real underrated gem.

Paperbacks can't.
Just fold the corner.

List a bunch of really nice, intelligent people.
Say 'they abandoned me', because of my views and how I act.
Still think you're the nice person.
Do all of this in a newspaper, with time to think about it properly.

Wow, that alone is weirdly unhinged.

Great work. There are so many cool old films that companies don't care about just sitting on you tube, minding their own business.
On Halloween we watched a hd upload of 'The House That Dripped Blood'. It was my first watch and so great.
Big applause for all the uploaders.

It looks great. I've just bought it on blu ray.
Streaming sucks. I hope you find a place to watch it over the holidays.
Maybe some sea loving, miscreants will point you to a place you can watch it.
December 10, 2025 at 5:00 AM
Oh. I'm always looking for new Christmas films. And I love Peter Cushing. Such a shame it's not on streaming.😟

It's also important to remember that there is an audience of non-filmmakers who also want to see that type of filmmakers work and love it too.
I am so grateful that I can see those films.
(Not trying to suggest you don't know that, just thought I'd add it to the discussion) 🙂

Surely 'Stringer Lords'.
It's open enough to be anything.
December 5, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Agreed. And I've been surprised by the growing selection on the free streaming sites; Tubi, Plex, Pluto, and in the UK we have ITV player and Channel 4.
They all have ads. But, honestly, with building a cheap dvd collection and what these services offer, your never without a lack of content.
December 5, 2025 at 9:32 PM
No, I know of it but never sat down to watch it.
December 5, 2025 at 9:20 PM
They certainly aren't perfect. Hopefully you can grab a new copy on the cheap somewhere. But it's a niche title, so might not be readily available. And probably not on streaming either.
December 5, 2025 at 9:16 PM
That sucks. I have a bunch of early dvds, and it hasn't happened to any of them. You had some bad luck.
December 5, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Yeah. It's the thing I'm amazed people don't realise. Streaming offers you the choice of their mediocre collection for you to watch.
But, if you suddenly think 'hey, I'd like to watch '#####', it's quite possible that it's not available on any of the services you pay for.
December 5, 2025 at 9:07 PM
In the UK the charity shops often have dvd prices like 3 for £1.
They are desperate to get rid of them, so you can get some good stuff.
But as you say $3 is a great price too and more people should be doing it.
I'm so glad I never threw my dvds away when streaming promised everything.

So good. The bit when CR is introduced at the airport just kicks ass. Great opening scene with MY too and the action at the end is top quality.
It's a shame the film didn't think the leads could carry it all.

We have the streaming service 'Arrow' and it's basically how we watch shows on it. Just clicking an interesting thumbnail and watching some interesting and obscure thing.
It's been a lot of fun.

I agree. It pisses me off that some tall fucker says excuse me, then stands in front of me.
Also, I think if you are below something like 5'4, it's probably best you are winched down from the ceiling and dangle there to watch from slightly above everyone. As long as your feet aren't in my face.

If you had to pick 4, leaving out Halloumi (or maybe even goats cheese) shows a real lack of taste.
November 10, 2025 at 6:03 PM
That story ends 'I had the last laugh'
November 6, 2025 at 3:55 PM
One of my fav films and saw it on the big screen earlier this year. Brilliant.

Immediately thought of this.
Armando is always well ahead of the game.
