I had this idea of "SciChecker", an AI fed with scientific publications as database that checks social media posts with medical information or advice. It rates the post according to veracity and also gives a bit of correct background information. Would you need such a tool? Let me know!

My first (very simple) visualisation of scientific data: a 3D bar chart. It's a prototype, not based on real data. And I might redo it in multicolour. For now, I designed the chart in #NomadSculpt on an iPad Pro, then exported the .stl file to Bambu Studio and printed it on my Bambu #P1S. Voilá!

In the past few weeks, I played around with my new 3D printer (@bambulabglobal.bsky.social #P1S) and tried to print some useful things from templates made by others. This “fidget ring” is helping me a lot to not pick my fingers. Next: designing my own scientific visualisations in 3D software.

And here is the next transferable skill set that came to my mind: Experiment Planning = Project Management + Time Management + Organisational Skills. Professions that need those skills: Project Managers & Event Managers.

Today, I got reminded on how important it is to take breaks during the business day to stay focused. Going for a quick walk, a short rowing machine session, meditating, watching an episode of my favourite series, or drinking a coffee or tea while staring out of the window. #SelfEmployment

With my Bambu P1S, I created two new 3D-printed tags with NFC chips programmed to open my website or my LinkedIn profile. This time, I completely designed them by myself. Before I already used a template with NFC chip on a conference in lack of business cards. #RockSolidP1S @BambuLab #BambuLab

What is great with being self-employed is that you can align your business to your own values - and don’t have to follow somebody else’s. An important insight from an EXIST Women workshop in Munich last week: In the past, I was unhappiest when my work didn’t align with my values #EXIST #EXISTWomen

I tried out Nomad Sculpt on the iPad for 3D modelling biological structures and it worked quite well! @nomadsculpt.com #3DBiology #3DScience

I just planned my next business quarter in a focused co-working sessions together with fellow self-employed people from Isabelle Mögelin's online community „Was wenn‘s klappt“. Such sessions always motivate me & make me feel less alone in this journey. #SolopreneurLife #OnlineCommunity #DigitalNomad

I just tried out 3D printing and created a relief of a plant cell. Would this be useful for people who are blind to learn about cytology?

I recently tried out Veo AI to generate a video clip of an otter brewing beer (it‘s a German otter, obviously).

I wonder if this AI tool could also be used to explain complex scientific concepts in a more visual way.

I will give this a try in the coming days!

Train rides = focus time

No better way to spend a train ride than reading „Building Science Graphics“ by @jenchristiansen.com.

A great resource for anyone serious about visualising science clearly, creatively, and with purpose.
