Most of my work ends up being quite short because I’m not very good at dragging things out. Perhaps I should practice finding ways of saying the same thing in more complicated ways. Shakespeare would be horrified – but then Shakespeare isn’t my boss, so that doesn’t mean much.

That’s partly what I like about fanfiction – it tends to be easy to find something to say once you have someone to say it about. No deadlines, too, so that’s always a relief. Longer projects however tend to feel rushed, as I’m used to getting things done within one sitting.
