Just a guy trying to get to work and back every day without dying.
Me: Mouth of a sailor and two middle fingers
Them: Two ton metal box on wheels
Even when the sidewalk is 15 feet wide, drivers want to occupy it all. Not only did the second driver pull up farther than necessary, he pulled up even closer as I approached to go between him and the truck in front. The cherry on top is the driver yelling at me as I ride away.

Hey, you can't park there

We truly have the most incredible drivers here in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Vision Zero won't fail due to a lack of funding, it will fail due to a lack of initiative and buy-in. Here's a temporary protected bike lane that DPW implemented, now completely blocked by some signs that they needed to store somewhere. Zero cost to not do shit like this.

I know my profile pic is a FedEx truck parked on the Capitol portion of the cultural trail, but I can shame all couriers equally.

Why choose between parking in the bike lane or on the sidewalk when you can do both?
August 14, 2025 at 10:03 PM
Unfortunately, and I find it hard to believe DPW would actually have done this, the sign was moved BACK into the middle of the sidewalk. Someone with agency decided that was the best place for the sign. It's back in a much safer and smarter spot, for now. This is war.

KY Ave is an awful place to exist if you're not in a car. One side of the sidewalk is completely overgrown, and has been for a year. The sidewalk is caked in pine needles. The other side is blocked by a sign aimed at car traffic. I decided to provide DPW free labor by fixing it.

Watched this group wait through an entire cycle of the crossing signal because the cars were completely blocking the crosswalk. Can't blame them, it's extremely easy to miss the crossing signal when it's blocked by a giant van. Can anyone name that intersection?

Also, I couldn't not post this perfect symphony of fuckery. You've got the RIP OZZY/HULK truck backing over the cone. The large truck using the cultural trail to back up. The Schindler elevator truck just parked right on top of the trail. Apparently, a giant construction site isn't enough space.

Watch this clip of my commute this morning. I steer around a car standing in the bike lane. Behind me is an IMPD cruiser who witnesses me being impeded by this and does nothing. It must be in a hurry though, because it illegally cuts through a parking lot to avoid waiting at a red light to turn.

A bit down the road was ANOTHER construction vehicle parked on the cultural trail. Just moments earlier a very large piece of construction equipment also backed over the trail to make a turn. I'm sure they are going to pay the repairs that will inevitably be needed on this section.

RIP OZZY
RIP HULK
RIP CONE

I didn't grab her face, and honestly she didn't do anything too egregious besides honking at me for using my right of way. Someone should probably hand her a driver's handbook though.

Elderly white male, two broken fingers which were splinted. Camera doesn't catch the face, but you can see the splint. For anyone reading, if this is your grandpa please take his keys away.

Observe as traffic begins Southbound on Capitol. It quickly backs up, leaving traffic in the intersection. As the light changes, a driver at the light swerves around traffic and runs the red light (off camera). Pedestrians were already entering the crosswalk, resulting in a near miss.

This morning I decided to administer an impromptu driving test by asserting my right of way in this intersection. Unfortunately the driver failed, so I made sure to remind her of the rules of the road. "You didn't see me," and "you need to pause." It's like she took the words right out of my mouth.

Crosswalk Wednesday Pt. 2! The drivers slept in this morning, but they made sure they were out in full force this afternoon. How many will I have to weave around or battle in the Mile Square today? Let's count together!

This afternoon's biking conditions, and it's not just limited to the weather!

It's Crosswalk Wednesday! How many crosswalks will I have to battle cars to access? This morning's ride was pretty nice. Only one car parked in the MI bike lane, and generally low traffic. The White River Trail detour continues to highlight a very sketchy crosswalk.

July 22, 2025. Pretty bad day. Multiple red light runners. Multiple people sitting in crosswalks. Almost got hit. Saw 3 different cybertrucks.
