In the image, you can see a steam methane reformer. It turns fossil gas into hydrogen & a lot of CO2, which is how H2 is made today.🏭🔥🌏

In a recent Newsletter about Ørsted's decision to cancel a factory for green Methanol, I mentioned that there were calls for a much more ambitions regulation, including by the shipping lobby organization ECSA. Make of that what you will, but that statement is no longer on their webpage... 🧵

Denmark or Switzerland are, by any reasonable standard, rich countries. Their energy consumption is low - less than half of what the US or Canada consume per person. While a strong correlation between energy & income exists for low-income countries, it is almost nonexistent for high-income countries

Maybe it says something that the Global CCS Institute has a media contact mail address that does not work and just sends you back an error message.
