While the bros chase big casino and weed money, women did the unpaid, sweaty, largely thankless work that needed doing. And they did it so well that there are literally new laws against it! Someday there will be a statue on the AR Capitol lawn of a group of women with a clipboards, hustling. 7/7

It took legal shenanigans to kill it, and the 2025 Legislature is clogged with more laws to keep any group from ever getting this close again. We’ve all had big feelings over the 2024 AR Abortion Amendment. My biggest residual feelings are gratitude and awe. This story was amazing, OK? Heroic. 6/

It was a high-intensity undertaking made all the more dramatic by its unexpected success and devastating disqualification. The hardest part to me was watching the knives come out for the leaders who took it upon themselves to do work no one else would, only to be demonized for it. 4/

to take on what’s become a big money, professionals only game of putting the will of the people on the ballot. A tireless+ferocious squad jumped in anyway, and they absolutely killed it. Nobody expected they could do what they did. On the other hand, I suspect we all expected the state of AR to 2/

Editorial cartoonists are journalists though? Just because you couldn’t be bothered to read the stories doesn’t mean journalists aren’t writing them. Where do you think the cartoonists’ info came from? Maybe go after the real bad guys next time. Journalists aren’t it.
