Please call your Representative and express your concerns about HB 1515. Then call the members of the House Election and Ethics Committee. Ask why they would consider restricting absentee voting. Point out that absentee voting is a secure and convenient way to exercise your right to vote.

Currently, any registered voter in Oklahoma may vote by absentee ballot and may apply for absentee ballots for the entire calendar year.

I have not seen any reports

It is an effort to make school boards more partisan. The best arguments to fight it pertain to it's cost and the confusion it will cause at the polls.

It will increase in costs to administer statewide elections because some precincts would contain 2 or more different school board ballots. These precincts would run a higher risk of errors in ballot issuance to voters and would increase the time needed to vote.

The measure does not change the vote required to pass a state question initiated by the legislature, unless it is a constitutional amendment. Citizen-initiated state questions should not have a higher vote requirement to pass than those initiated by the legislature.
