Personally, I really like the force building rules in the game. It encourages lore accurate lists but doesn't overly force your hand like other games do.

Rivendell and the Dunedain are yellow allies. So you COULD take them but you'd lose your army bonus.
I don't know a ton about the Battle of Greenfields but wasn't that just Rangers and Orcs anyway?

Not only GWs best games but one of the best rulesets I've ever played, full stop. And it being set in Middle Earth makes it even better.
