I think the best part of gens stages is exploring places we normally don't. Kingdom Valley Act 2 and Rooftop Run Act 1 come to mind specifically. PW is truly stuff we've already seen, and it's rough because that preestablished contrast exists in the original stage already (Factory vs Nature)

I think (?) It's because Spikes and Rocket are saved in Colors (been a minute since I played it) I heard they were supposed to be a skill you could purchase before they canned it. Between the pacebreaking nature of the wisps and the rather bland level design, It became such a disappointment.

Introduction to the wisps is how Planet Wisp became that way. They aren't typical level gimmicks and both Spikes and Rocket were made to take advantage of a 2-D environment in the original game. From it's conception it was kneecapped which is a damn shame for how cool Planet Wisp is as a level theme
