Haven't had brussels sprouts in years, so I bought some today to chop up and mix in with other things (because the "meat & two veg" context isn't the only use for them). Couldn't believe how cheap they were: 70p a kilo, or 17p for enough for two meals.

Please remember when sharing pictures from #Sudan and other countries where there are wars, genocides or similar, that naked pictures of children (meaning under-18s) are illegal to reproduce or share in the UK and many other places.

Been seeing IG ads for a private nursery and primary school in southwest London called Jack & Jill. All except the nursery is all-girls. Why do you need an all-girls reception or infant school? Secondary perhaps, but not at 4 or 5.

Oh, and the head is a man!

Just listened to the BBC History Podcast this afternoon about the arrest of General Pinochet. Isn't it funny that he had to come to London to have his back operation? After 17 years of his rule, Chile's health system wasn't good enough for him.

Is anyone else finding that some web apps (including X/Twitter and FB) don't work properly anymore on Mac Safari? If you switch back to that tab after viewing another, the tab is often blank and refreshing it doesn't work. #iOS262

This is a very good definition of terrorism. By contrast, in the UK a 'terrorist' is whoever the government says is one.

Like I said in my latest blog entry: Farage is a lifelong racist.
As this Guardian story from *1999* points out, Farage the man is as racist as Farage the youth - if only more of the Fourth Estate had chosen to pay attention back then…

Just heard that our house has a water leak which started when Thames Water fitted a meter.

Our bills went through the roof; we were told we were using as much water as a family of seven (rather than three).

Now we have to get them to fix their own mess.
