Carlos Enrique Taboada, known as the godfather of Mexican Gothic cinema, greatly inspired greats like Guillermo del Toro, which you can see very clearly when you watch the two directors' films.

There is so much more to the film than this synopsis, and I kind of like the idea of not sharing beyond this so people can experience it for themselves. I Dream in Another Language is beautifully intimate and emotional. Watch it on AMC+ or for free on Fandango at Home.
