I entered Brynn today for the first time and I honestly felt the same way when I first navigated Baldur's Gate in BG1 and Athkatla in BG2. Just wow!

Have to say, Stoneshard is one of the most difficult, frustrating, yet endearing, jawdropping and has-stuck-in-my-head #indiegames I've played in a while! And it's not even close to full version! Kudos to the team

Visited Gameathlon in Athens today and tried out several university-project or gamejam games that were hand-picked for this event. Some really promising games in there, though I forgot to take pictures outside of this one. Will go back tomorrow for more.

2023 was good overall, despite several downs. The blog remained active and I met even more indie devs / content creators. Most importantly, my first book, Into the Indies, saw its final release, this time in a printed version as well! Wish everyone a happy and healthy 2024!

In a similar manner to Star Traders the generated characters here are used as placeholders to specific storylines and quests which makes them more alive. Add to that a friendship system and the connection to other NPCs (like sellers) and you have a great cyberpunk campaign!

This time, the combat opts for a more similar approach to XCOM. Really tactical, has mechanics that let you see future enemy movement and allow for stealth approaches as well. It might need some tweaking with future updates, but it's really fun already!

It is similar to their previous game, Star Traders: Frontiers, but here you take over as the leader of a "mercenary" group in a cyberpunk universe. Planning heists, getting favours, scoring loot while keeping both the law and debt collectors off your back!
