IMO it is a left over from so many working on big estates - cap doffing brigade. In recent times they’ve voted in umpteen public school boys - Angus MacDonsld, Jamie Stone, Edward Mountain, Donald Cameron to name a few. They seem to think “they” are better than us 😡 Many also support the monarchy
