this is exactly how I have been doing (99% of the time). I still tried the tools because I find that its easier to do it by hand. Sometimes with Claude you get stuck in loops or it goes in completely wrong path. (And the ideas of subscription for coding feels wrong)

Mostly likely you didnt need to burn credits to build it, but once you get sucked into Vibe coding you make tons of useless stuff that no one uses.

This is very true. Software engineers have shown no empathy and sometimes actively collaborated with bad actors (eg Palantir). But my worry is that with AI/LLMs the most destructive among us would still thrive, while ethical ones will be cut quickly.

I know people who are using Claude code, codex, or opencode and I get scared when they raise 1000L PRs which break my services. The productivity increase is basically eliminated when you have to read the code.

Programmers are being told "Learn AI if you dont want to get fired". This is apathetic, and its coming from devs we used to respect. And these guys don't want to hear the arguments against AI anymore.

Consultant teams were always very efficient, most of the coding work is always done by workers in low-cost economies while PMs and Managers stay in US. And I dont see say NBCu, or Gatorade, to make their own websites, however cheap it is.

By that logic we should abolish all prev tech before touching AI. Its adding to the power usage rather than replacing any of the other consumers. Some of the trillions of dollars invested in AI could have helped us in making efficient ACs, but thats not a growth maker for execs.
