Yesterday, a Missouri Judge approved the Republican ballot language designed to deceive voters into supporting another abortion ban. Here’s what they’re putting on the ballot, even though it never admits it reinstates an abortion ban: --Guarantee women’s medical care for emergencies, ectopic pregnancies, and miscarriages; --Ensure women’s safety during abortions; --Ensure parental consent for minors; --Repeal Article I, section 36, approved in 2024; allow abortions for medical emergencies, fetal anomalies, rape, and incest; --and Prohibit sex-change procedures for children This isn’t about safety or parental consent, it’s about control. This is another Republican ploy to hoodwink voters into voting against their own rights. They’re pulling these dirty tricks because they know they can’t win when the truth is on the ballot.

(There is a clear parallel to the Luddites here, who were skilled technicians and clothmakers who weren’t worried about technology surpassing them, but the way factory owners used it to make cheaper, lower-quality goods that drove down prices.)
