Our team is working towards making sure that women scientists and their work are no longer invisible in the science courses we teach in schools ✨

#IncludeHer #WomenInSTEM
Science is a *human* endeavour.

And yet, we continue to teach students as if it were only a *male* endeavour.

We're trying to change that.

Welcome to #IncludeHer! We're a not-for-profit working to correct gender biases in science education, follow along to learn about our research!

We were surprised too! We we're expecting Marie Curie to be mentioned, was that the same with you?

Absolutely! There's some absolutely incredible research that women have and continue to do!

We should be learning about this work rather than undervaluing the research from women

Meanwhile other states take a ‘concept and scientist’ approach, but they fail to mention the contributions of female scientists (e.g. notably, Marie Curie under the topic of radioactivity!) ☢️

If this approach is taken, curricula should also talk about female scientists and their contributions.

ACT and VIC take a ‘concept’ approach, avoiding mentions of scientists where possible.

Since many laws/methods were named after men due to historical reasons, this approach does not tell the full story and implicitly promotes the ‘lone-male genius’ narrative.
