Here's a better picture of Tom (front seat). I had finished the commercial add-on and we started working on the CFI in his Duo Discus. I had thousands of hours as a CFI (airplane) already, but now I had to "teach" a man who literally wrote the book (many of them) on soaring. What a treat that was.

Looks a lot like this ASK-13 I flew at Eagle Airport in PA.

Also, there are 3 or 4 Ospreys that follow him around and I believe the E-4 'Doomsday Plane" is always somewhere close by, but not at the same airport as AF-1.

Here's the motorcade in a C-5 and Marine One in a C-17.

My first fatal accident at the NTSB, a Cessna 310-F in Carmel Valley California. It was quite a hike to get up into that canyon.

Unscheduled airshow over my house today. A USMC C-130 Black Tail was in the pattern for a few hours.

My favorite King Air was the F-90. It's the sports car of King Airs, basically a short 200. I flew this one quite a few times.

I prefer my 3 pack these days.

There is no excuse, but yes, elected officials played a part just as they did with the 737 MCAS accidents. The FAA's bureaucracy is to blame as well.

I logged a lot of hours in this airplane. Can you spot the problem with the vertical stabilizer? It always reminded me that this was indeed a government organization 😂

Fine, as long as it's in one of these. It's the only thing I enjoy flying anymore.

I spent a lot of time in OKC at the FAA Academy. I'll miss visiting my "second home" at some hotel on Meridian Ave and SW 15th. The one time I stayed at the Rockwell RV park, we had a tornado, of course. Went through El Reno and skipped over us. You can't tell in the photo, but the sky was green.
