Ring-tailed possum in Preston, Vic. They're just little guys :)

Another first for me, a nice Brown Falcon pic, this time in Werribee

Merry Christmas from this New Holland Honeyeater, spotted in Halls Gap, Victoria. #birds

Mount Sugarloaf in Kinglake, Vic. There were passing showers, I had the creek trail to myself. In a particularly heavy downpour I took cover under a big Gum and, listening to the sounds of birds calling and rain falling, I thought to myself... yeah fuck yeah

Finally, here's one where the parent got wise to me staring at them and activated camo mode. The chicks haven't really learned how to do this yet but they did stop staring back.

They have changed trees since last time but they didn't go far. Here we have the other parent in the lookout tree, and the other chick tucked into a more obscured branch.

Finally got back to check on this nest. The chicks are about 4 weeks old, still very fluffy. One parent is sitting with the chicks, another is keeping watch from a nearby tree. They are so dang cute.

For everyone seeking distraction in the #birds feed - here's an Eastern Spinebill I saw in the Grampians a while ago. Look at him. I bet he has nice manners.

Tawny Frogmouth in Spring Gully, Victoria. This one appears to have a small chick in the nest - you can just make out some fluff near the parent's feet. Updates to follow! #birds

Superb Fairywren at Wonga Wetlands, Albury. I've taken dozens off photos of these little guys over the years but this might be my favourite.

For example, I love the way this Grick turned out. The inner tentacles were a perfect application for a wash/shade effect, because the suckers are prominent enough to really pop after one coat. I think this is the best job I've done at layering up the colours so far, too.

My dexterity isn't good enough for detail work, but I've found that good minis make it easy to get decent results - shout out to Resinate Miniatures on Etsy!

I've been painting some minis for an upcoming #DnD campaign (Lost Mines of Phandelver). It's been fun, I'm starting to get the hang of it. First batch (goblins) were a little dodgy but I'm still happy with how they've turned out.

Jumped into Journey again today to try and finish some achievements. I was lucky enough to meet a fellow traveller along the way, and we reached the summit together, which is always a beautiful experience. Play Journey 😊 one playthrough takes about 2 hours, and it is wonderful.

Incredible show by NOFX in Melbourne last night.

Why play online and experience stress when I can simply do the tactical board game equivalent of a quick crossword?

I appreciate that playtime is always a proportion and not number of hours...I don't need to know that, it's none of my business.
