Some combination of political junkie, media commentary and goofy randomness. About me: parent, English major, teacher, science and tech nerd, spectacularly humble

The picture is clearly ai generated and not what I look like. I am not a duck.
Normally, would not post anything from the Washington Examiner…but they polled every GOP about ending the filibuster. Here’s their graphic. It’s laughably bad for Trump. Also, shockingly solid journalism from WE.

Direct your purchase away from Home Depot. Their owner can do something-see pic.

So Home Depot seems to be letting ICE have free rein. Most items can be purchased easily on Amazon or another hardware store. Direct your traffic away from their stores until they do something. Check the ownership in a pic.

Tesla has hit my Reddit feed begging people to vote with the board. I guess Elon and his pay raise might be in some trouble. If you own Tesla stock, please realize that a large portion of the world population has soured on your company solely due to Elon. Vote for your own self-interest.

I don't think my parents realize that baby boomers are not going to be remembered for much but greed. They inherited the longest, largest peacetime economic boom of any generation in any country since the start of civilization. And they hoarded it, blocked healthcare. Elected their poster child.

The recent Russian advance that got so much attention is very small in reality. And it appears to have been largely contained. This has been modern trench warfare for a while. It is certainly weakening both countries. However, why on earth would Ukraine concede those demands?

I have an a academic question. Let’s say every state perfectly gerrymanders their map (by party controlling the state house or proper mechanism). Who wins the House of Representatives? Losing the fight on gerrymanders might give Dems the House of Reps…permanently.

2/2 The March on Washington had 250K people in the same space. These two things do not appear the same. It is hard to find any aerial photos of the parade yesterday. I assume someone could have taken one from atop the Washington Monument, even if drones were banned.
June 15, 2025 at 10:31 PM
This is from Getty and the BBC. The crowd appears to be only a few rows back along the parade lines. NPR said about 200k people. Given the space, it probably felt like a lot of room left over. The picture makes it seem lower than that. 1/2

It almost seems like the media has a consensus. It should not be lost in the storm that the President does not have the legal authority to impose tariffs.

There’s something so familiar about the image with Noem. It seems so familiar. Hmm…

And that how Elon Musk will invent the library, airplanes that don’t crash and national cybersecurity.

This is from: www.economist.com/graphic-deta... . It has a paywall. The us spent about the same as China and Russia combined and less than the rest of Nato and Ukraine in 2023. However, this is a very different view than given to American. We are not irreplaceable or invincible. 3/3

What can we do right now as the pain begins to be really felt? We can recall every GOP state official possible. 19 states allow it. It is not federal. But any success and even the effort changes the political landscape.

Fortunately, it is unpossible. Congress couldn’t agree on chocolate or vanilla ice cream for dessert, if they were out chocolate ice cream. There be a sub committee on who didn’t go to the store. Further purchases would tied into an appropriations bill for artillery shells and dog collars.

No, it’s not a Roman salute. I practiced as skill the MSM forgot and went to wikipedia to check the basic premise of the statement.

Tldr for photos: Some version of it showed up in media shortly before Mussolini and the Nazi’s. It was always fake. Fascists co-opted it. It only comes from them.

The fires are still spreading and more are popping up. If you compare this to the last two maps I posted, it is visible. Californians don’t need to be told that this can get much worse. Other Americans might not realize that there is a chance of losing the city. The wind picks up Tuesday.
January 11, 2025 at 8:46 AM
So the area covered in fire symbols is home to 10 million people. This is an overwhelming amount of fire for a US metro area. Schools have closed. If this picks up, LA could burn down. Some reports of the military and national guard organizing are being reported.
