Logged in and checked on the old Facebook. My entire newsfeed is angry veteran AI slop.

We've spent decades worth of public trust and confidence in a matter of months, and for what?

I for one love subscribing to a single company controlling the entire supply of a service in our market.

You shouldn't find drones above 400' unless there are special exceptions for that day. Military drones will be well above at a minimum of 18,000 feet.

Anyone can climb in any little plane and fly between the ground and 10,000 feet between those two places. You can also fly ultralights...

Deep diving the history of Japanese-American Internment and Operation Wetback, I always wondered what kind of person would steal their homes and businesses.

The "They're lowering the StAnDaRdS!" crowd sure is happy about *checks notes* lowering standards.

What?
October 20, 2025 at 10:36 AM
Ahh, there it is. Though, curiously, not publicized by the Coast Guard.

I would wager a large sum that during this event, the west coast of the lower 48 went without long range search and rescue coverage or at least assumed a degraded posture.

That could mean when you get hurt or lost 500+ miles off the coast, no one is going out to find you until the planes return.

An aircraft photo op two days into a government shutdown. Thousands of miles away from the coast. With aircraft that cost thousands of dollars an hour to operate and crews already spread extremely thin guarding the coast and serving as ICE's own airlines, an added strain since January of this year.

I know this is small beans right now but I can't let this go. On October 2nd the Secretary of DHS presided over a naturalization ceremony with Mt. Rushmore as the backdrop. At the same time, four (4) Coast Guard fixed-wing aircraft loitered overhead for several hours, presumably for a photo op.
