Former Michigan Marching Band member here… let me just say that maybe you haven’t experienced being pelted with nuts (walnuts,chestnuts, etc.) by Ohio fans while attempting to march into the Ohio State Stadium. I marched in two Rose Bowls and other college stadiums without incident.

I’m a boomer and it applies to me 😊
