Happy to share that IMVT got his next doctor 🙂.
Here is Benedikt Deschner after an outstanding defense today 💪.
Congrats Benedikt! This is well deserved. Thank you for all the work and all the best!

Happy to share that Siyu Zhong successfully defended her thesis today and is now Dr.-Ing. 💪
Great achievement, and well deserved! Many thanks, Siyu, for accepting the challenge to study CO2 electrochemical reduction at unconventional process conditions and establishing this research line at IMVT.

We have another new doctor from IMVT! Xiang Zhan successfully defended his thesis today 💪. The basis was 4 years of hard work on a novel microchannel membrane reactor for heterogeneous photocatalysis where the membrane acts as a flow-through catalyst or as a reactant distributor. Well deserved!

Last week we got another new plant for our Energy Lab, a 500 kW anion exchange membrane electrolyzer from enapter. Adrenaline always goes high when expensive big components are to be moved with a massive crane in confined space and placed with centimetre accuracy on the foundations… Well done again!

Carbon dioxide removal from air in buildings: A massive crane places two containers accommodating a temperature-vacuum-swing #DAC unit from DACMA on the roof of our institute building. The unit will be integrated with the ventilation system and serve as a demonstrator for building-integrated DAC.

After a very lively press event yesterday showcasing our floating experimental PtX platform, today and tomorrow we meet with all project partners in this nice location here: Atlantic Hotel Sail City in Bremerhaven. #H2Mare #PtX #Hydrogen #Offshore

Just arrived in Bremerhaven, where we build up a complete PtL process chain starting with CO2 capture from air as well as sea water purification via pressurised high-temperature co-electrolysis, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and syncrude upgrading to kerosene on a floating platform for offshore testing.

A quote from the Global Congress of Process Safety panel discussion: „We want this transition to happen“
The panel highlights that the safety community is prepared to help companies starting to deal with widespread applications of hydrogen and derivates in the future.

Opening keynote. Hope to get an update on the chemical industry‘s view on future trends. While it‘s pretty clear that modern civilisation won‘t work without chemistry, the challenge we face is how we can transform the classical fossil-based chemical industry into a more sustainable industry.
