I stopped being proud to be an American a long time ago. I began to be embarrassed in 2017- then shamed and horrified.
I had hope and pride in humanity, though.
Today, looking to Gaza, I feel only shame in my humanity- all humanity- and wonder that Christ even bothered. I wouldn’t if I were Him.
