not to mention at least 80% of the announcements being something actually interesting and stuff to look forward to which is an impressive record considering how ass it's been in previous years (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE HIGHGUARD THAT WAS A FLOP OF A FINALE GAME)

E33 discourse aside, lots of really really good games cropped up this year and the awards had a stacked lineup, even if E33 took a lot of awards. multiple categories where all the nominees felt deserved and that they had a very real shot at winning

unless they make it weird by immediately jumping to that conclusion or you saying to them "this is so i can steal your work" most people will not bat an eye, usually when i ask modders for stuff they use they're happy to send me names/links/settings/etc. most people are really chill
