I've seen many people argue that it makes his Kryptonian parents the evil other so many who fear the "Great Replacement theory" weaponize for bigotry and dehumanization of immigrants. it is also has Superman essentially being assimilated into the "GOOD" American culture, rejecting his evil "other"
