Nearly always within (long) arms reach of a soldering iron, a set of lock picks, and a 'treats warning signs as personal insults' attitude.

Closed casket. Either because there's just a thick paste in there, or the total quantity of remains recovered could fill a thimble.

That life was brutal enough, but it's even less tenable with my whole new transgender thing, at least until Woke2 happens.

For some reason, nobody wants to build factories in places with triple digit/sqft land valuations and roads that are impossible to get big trucks down.

I've seen some really cool stuff in just a few years, but it involved traveling to a lot of real armpits of the continental US.

Industrial Controls can be a really dull sector, but I will say a lot of the old-heads have absolutely no time for AI where it doesn't actually belong.

ML machine vision is all over the place for obvious reasons, but anyone who suggests letting GenAI write safety logic is not long for the industry.

From about 1AM to 5 AM, they don't have any native programming, so they just simulcast the BBC World Service.

So for that few hours every day, there is still the chance it could happen.

I also love the aesthetics of Yorktown Station. If I was a post scarcity society with unfailingly reliable artificial gravity systems, I would totally green-light the construction of the MC Escher wheels within wheels space city

I'd be on board with the full shark situation. The ability to bite more things I'm curious about with fewer dental related issues is very appealing.

It really feels like the pitch for that show was

"We want to have James Spader be his snarky asshole self in a thriller universe that takes itself incredibly seriously everywhere but within 10 feet of him'

Instantly gets greenlit for 10 seasons

If you start putting Half and Half in, you go on a list. Heavy cream gets the Stasi sent after you

I have a Leatherman Skeletool that I adore.

It's a lot more pocketknife than most multi tools, and isn't nearly as bulky. But when you do need pliers or a screwdriver, they're there.

The USS Maine anniversary is Feb 15th, make sure your calendar is marked for that one while you're up

It's crazy seeing the absolute knots the crypto ecosystem tied itself into from day one.

Even when they're not completely circular relationships, so many of the supposed 'backed' projects are sitting on a pile of other cryptocurrencies, not considering that if one goes down, they probably all will.

Are you making sure to follow the haribo consumption instructions to the letter? Those are critical.

Well, the superglue seems to be holding, and I don't have any leftover screws after putting everything back together, so here's hoping.

Me too. The last of mine dried solid, so it's on the grocery list.

Hopefully that plus a metal needle heated up and melted through the center is enough, trying to match all the little arbitrary details on this thing if I have to CAD it out would suck.

Turns out they only want to sell me the whole tray unit, motors and all, despite the little 20 cent piece of plastic that actually broke being trivial to remove and replace.

I really do not care to try and model / print a replacement, so it's superglue time.

Two steps forward, one step back ig.
