I was referring to like how in Kingdom Hearts, you're supposed to lose the fight with Leon, but it's possible to beat him with enough perseverance. Sora loses regardless, but the circumstances are different; if you lose, Leon beats you, if you win, Sora collapses from exhaustion.

Or at the very least, have a dual scenario where you either lose in the fight, or lose after the fight in a cutscene.
