agreed - I used to buy the Grauniad every day in the 80s/90s. But nowadays it's so far removed from my life, it might as well be in orbit.

I'm going in a couple of weeks when the tour gets to Bristol. Also excited, it was my favourite musical as a kid, especially Tevye's scary ass dream!

exactly! data detective work is fun :)

There are tools that can do basic reporting, tools that can build ok (but not great) models, and tools that can help with coding - but none that I've yet found that can do the proper legwork that makes up the majority of the job

also a data analyst - also voted #2.

The main issue I'm seeing at the moment is that clients are expecting that we quote quicker turnarounds/cheaper prices as they think we should be cutting corners with gen AI - even though, as yet, it can't come close to doing what we do - not accurately anyway

not sure why those pics went on a separate post - never mind - I'm better with a paint brush than with social media, clearly :D

You've just listed 4 of my favourite shows of all time, one I've never got around to but keep meaning to, and 2 I've never heard of. I'd better check out the 2!

You'd hope. Huh?

Labour have a lot of work to do before the next general election to turn this ship around. I think, and hope, that it's possible, but not if they keep insisting on hurtling full steam towards the iceberg.

Thank you, all done in 6 hours so I had to go all out. Pleased with how it ended up though.

I used to have a proper antique one, but my oldest son "borrowed" it from me years ago and has no intention of ever giving it back, it seems. This new one was a gift to me from his girlfriend, so presumably he told her about the first one.

Not belated. My birthday is today :) I just did my big day out a day early because I wanted to hit a matinée and they don't do them on Sundays.
