Today, the Imperial family attended a memorial service for her Imperial Highness, Yuriko, the Princess Mikasa, to mark 100 days since her passing.

Members of the Imperial family attended the new year's reception. The Mikasa and Takamado branches did not attend, nor will they attend any new year events, due to the recent passing of Yuriko, Princess Mikasa. Masahito, Prince Hitachi, will also not attend any new year's events due to his age.

Princess Kako turned 30 today!! Princess Kako visited Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako around 11am (JST) for birthday greetings. She also signed "thank you" to well-wishers at the Imperial Palace gates.

Her Imperial Highness, Aiko, The Princess Toshi, tested positive for influenza A. She had a fever of 38 degrees C and a cough. The next morning her fever dropped to 37 degrees. Aiko will recover at home until the 27th.
