Maybe use a closure? Not super-graceful, but something like:

static var static_1
...

static var reset_func:Callable

static func init_static_vars():
var def_1 = static_1
...

reset_func = func():
static_1 = def_1
...

They're syntactically really similar, but the big hill to climb will be in getting your head around Godot's programming model and native class library. You can get started very quickly without having to get into the weeds too much at all. Bonus, you get a primer on Python at the same time.

I see 8 basic math functions that every 9th grader should have mastered already. Maybe some python coders need to work on mastering enumeration.
