The sad part of this is that we the people are both too concerned with keeping what we have and placing too much faith in the next election to see that acting decisively right now is probably the only way to dial this back.

Considering Trump's knowledge and experience are confined to graft and he's advised by mainly crackpots, is it possible he's ignorant of one of the most evergreen principles of politics: it's the economy stupid.

Trump and Putin seek only to isolate US and EU. This rhetoric plays into their hands and is a path to war. Sane factions in EU and US need an unrelenting campaign to resist and defy this isolation. Take the hits but refuse to be reshaped into the world Trump and Putin would see made.
