please excuse me I need to return some 4K UHD discs
I presented Chris Stuckmann’s SHELBY OAKS at its Toronto premiere last night and hosted the Q&A after.

I’m so proud of what Chris has accomplished - the film is a blast and a reminder of what’s possible with a YouTube channel and a dream.

See it in theaters October 24!

this little moment in SINNERS has been on my mind since opening night.

these 3 notes in sync with the match break the veil between film and audience. it plays so well into the film’s theme of music being a transcendent and spiritual voice in the world.

incredible.

Spent some time with @captaindisillusion.bsky.social and he’s the rare mix of being a real, genuinely nice person who just happens to also be insanely talented - but without the silver makeup, I can’t be sure it was actually him.

THE FINAL RECKONING is a mess.

Overloaded with plot, oddly paced, and the score is the weakest in the franchise - but the set pieces hit hard.

There’s an underwater scene that rivals THE ABYSS.

I didn't like the film, but I really loved parts of it.

thinking about how I’m gonna afford to see Nolan’s THE ODYSSEY in IMAX because they filmed it in Greece instead of a warehouse in Burbank

You can see SINNERS in any format you want…
as long as it’s 1.43:1 70mm IMAX film projection.

DEN OF THIEVES: PANTERA - Calling this a “throwback” is dismissive. It’s what action films should be today.

A popcorn AND hot dog movie that proves DVD bin concepts can be elevated to greatness with the right crew.

Gerard Butler is Tom Cruise for guys that eat pretzels.

This morning I printed the screenplay for THE BRUTALIST.

130 pages. I love physically holding a script to read.

NOSFERATU - Slow horror on fast forward.

A throwback to classic horror, but weighed down by modern pitfalls. It kept rushing to nowhere, with jump scares that clashed with the aesthetic and overshadowed strong performances from Depp and Skarsgård.

I tried to love this. It's 100% my shit. Damn.

Watching THE BRUTALIST feels like uncovering something we thought was lost forever, and seeing it feels almost unreal.

The whole time, I kept thinking, ‘I thought we forgot how to do this…’
