Indeed. In my opinion it's a mix of both and COVID-19 came at a very convenient time for the government in my opinion.

I think overall it's a tricky situation. Cause the language needs to be maintained but that also means working hard to teach others. Obviously the biggest impact will be government policies, especially related to the curriculum.

I think it's important to maintain the language and that starts with school and learning. but the focus on "international" talents who all come from the mainland will slowly erode Cantonese as the main language. It's a sad situation. But a question there is also if hkers can assist in integration

I will definitely try to post! At the same time, it's not of much use (unfortunately) in my profession at the moment but that isn't & has never been the reason for my passion for these matters anyways. But I am working on a big thesis regarding 🇭🇰👮🏻‍♂️so there might especially be some posts about them:)
