In the end it was faster (I wrote it beforehand) to write the library myself than to wait for each code output and constantly fix it. I want AI to succeed but you have to know what to copy paste or we're going to end up with more and more security 🔓 and accessibility disasters on our hands 🤒

In a lot of cases the AI ignored instructions and I had to constantly nudge it back
"yeah I need you to use htmlDialog"
"use media queries not darkmode variables"
"for light and dark mode use media come on"
"the dialog isn't centered on the screen"
it's like training a dog to sit but less cute

I just asked an unnamed and unshamed AI to code a simple typescript library. It took 11 iterations to fix all the bugs, type issues and in some cases unsafe practices many of which were only apparent by stepping through the code produced. You have to know what to ask and what to copy paste.

While sadly a likely possibility 💀 lately I'm trying to take a proactive mindset and call and email my senators and house reps in support of any positive legislation (and also for all the deafening lack of anything the other times). This is one of those cases where I'm getting on the megaphone 📣

Should have been this way for a long time, I can respect good ideas even if they come from the most unqualified of people.

Now to make this actually happen against the vested interested of big media and pharma 💪

In my humble opinion efficiency should be for chemical reactions. Can we have a true conversation at improving our systems, our services, reducing overhead and bureaucracy without jumping to the false equivalency that it means doing less or sacrificing revenue, quality or innovation.
