The bigger issue is that the entire AGI dream may not be the best way to approach intelligence. This is a historical take and there are better ways to think of intelligence as complex cooperative systems, why autonomy is so fascinating?

Not feasible unfortunately. Many ML problems are NP complete, but their average cases are not hard. That means AI models often don't work in the worst-case. They are generally ok-ish on average. They are also vulnerable to adversarial attacks and they develop sub-goals and deception.

In my case it is accurate enough to pinpoint restaurants that are nearby. Tried it multiple times in different countries. But if I ask "do you know where I am" it says no.

I am not saying it is using your IP to detect the image. I am saying these two abilities together open doors for extensive user manipulation. It can use IP to understand what the user sees and use that to convince/influence the user.

Now you can also ask for a restaurant near you, and it knows where you are (based on your IP)
