Im not saying that bein a "patriot", is a bad thing... seems more like a label others give you. Ive lived in south my whole black ass life and every person I've ever heard call themselves a "patriot" heralded some of the most fascists, prejudice anti democracy views ever. Buncha hate opinions.

Disabled combat vet here....ppl aren't joining due to patriotism....they join to escape poverty bc in a nation like U.S. where poverty is rampant the military provides some societal upwards mobility if ur lucky or at least stability. You dont see rich and well off folks at 18 in military ...
