I've been trying to find a spiritual successor to Ys VIII but I've yet to find one (aside from Ys 9 & 10 which I haven't played yet). I miss the excitement when going exploring further into the island ("WHAT'S BEHIND THAT MOUNTAIN???!!"), the combat, the music, everything worked so well together...

Susumu Hirasawa's latest album "The Book of Phytoelectron" is amazing, highly recommend. So glad it's available on bandcamp since it's quite expensive to import CDs from Japan (with a high chance to get the jewel case cracked...)
