Thanks for your huge collaboration for our efforts with this region and the previous two regions, the NE Atlantic Ocean-Baltic Sea and the SW Atlantic. Great to be partners with you in the push to identify and implement IMMAs around the world.
New Important Marine Mammal Areas Identified - OceanCare
43 new Important Marine Mammal Areas (IMMAs) in the NW Atlantic & Caribbean have been identified as essential habitats for threatened species like whales.

Kerch Strait acts as a migratory pathway between the Black and Azov seas for the unique threatened subspecies of Black Sea harbor porpoise & bottlenose dolphin.
